International Economics

Video Project

Introduction:

As part of the course requirements, you will be placed in groups and asked to make a video (think Òyou tubeÓ) on a particular International Economics topic. You will make your videos available to the class via you tube. Your group will consist of approximately 4-5 students. Upon completion of the video, you will be required to critique your fellow group memberÕs participation in the project. Your comments and feedback will be considered when grading your teamÕs video.

Group Size:

4 - 5 students per group

Equipment:

Video equipment is available through the IRC at SJSU or you may utilize your own equipment.

Length/Format:

Your video should be from 5-7 minutes in length. The video should include a title slide with the teamÕs name and the title of your film.

Content:

Your video may take any number of forms; your options are nearly endless. You may interview a person who can discuss a topic from some personal knowledge. You may create a play or skit acting out some illustration of a topic. You may have a group member recite a poem written by the group on a topic, or a musically-inclined member of your group perform. You may use any creative manner you wish to communicate on the topic.

You may select any topic you wish as long as it is related to International Economics. After you have chosen a topic, you must clear it with your professor. In some cases, your professor may ask you to explain its relevance to the course.

Turning in the project:

Due to the unique format of this project, you will Òturn inÓ your completed film by posting it on You Tube and providing a link to your professor. Your professor will then post the link on the her class web site so that your fellow students may view it and comment. The video will also be shown in class.

In addition, please turn in a short summary (typed) which includes the Team Name, the names of all team members, the name of your video and the URL where it can be located, the topic addressed, and a brief description of the film.
